RUSNANO invests $825 000 in Bioptix Company

RUSNANO, JSC will invest $825 000 in Bioptix Diagnostics, Inc within the next funding round. According to the press service of the nanotech company, this decision was made by RUSNANO's board of directors. Bioptix Diagnostics, Inc. plans to invest the funds raised in further development of label-free bio-detectors of second generation, and start their sales. 

 

RUSNANO previously invested in the production of label-free bio-detectors and bionanoslides, as well as in the creation of disposable consumable bionanoslides production in Russia - glass substrates coated with precise metal and biofunctional nanofilms. Rusnano invested $4.5M in the project. 

The co-investors were American venture funds Boulder Ventures Ltd., Peierls Foundation, and several private investors who invested the same amount in the share capital of the company. 

The biodetection technology of BiOptix Diagnostics, Inc. makes it possible not only to detect a bioreaction, but also directly determine its kinetic parameters in real time. The measurement of kinetic constants of bimolecular reactions is very important for a comprehensive study of promising candidate molecules for innovative medicines.
