Center for Preclinical and Translational Research opened in St. Petersburg

The working visit of the Russian Minister of Health Veronika Skvortsova to Saint-Petersburg was marked by the official opening of the Center for Preclinical and Translational Research of FSBI V.A. Almazov National Medical Research Center of the Ministry of Health of Russia, being the first organization of this type in the Russian Federation.

The Center has the capability to conduct all types of studies in the area of safety and efficacy of new medicinal products, pharmacological substances, biomedical cell products, materials, and medical devices.

This unique research and innovative infrastructure facility has an animal farm for the core species of laboratory animals (laboratory SPF rodents (specific-pathogen-free animals), pigs, monkeys, as well as fish and tailless amphibians) and well-equipped labs.

In addition, the activities of the Center for Preclinical and Translational Research are aimed at improving the educational programs for future specialists in the area of translational medicine.
