New production facility for implants production was opened in Kaluga region

On July 4, the city of Obninsk in the Kaluga region hosted an official ceremony marking the opening of a factory by Sanatmetal CIS LLC for manufacturing the implants for traumatology, spine surgery, dentistry, veterinary medicine, as well as the prosthetic implants of joints.

Sanatmetal manufactures more than 25 thousand types of products from special stainless steel and titanium alloy. The company is present in 35 countries in America, Asia, and Europe. Sanatmetal is a strategic supplier for three out of Top 5 global market leaders in the area of orthopaedics and traumatology products.

Sanatmetal CIS is a joint Russian-Hungarian subsidiary of Sanatmetal Kft. Investments in the Kaluga-based factory of Sanatmetal amounted to about 250 million rubles. The facility is scheduled to manufacture 150-180 thousand product units a year (screws, plates, pins, heads, etc.) The factory employs 60 people.

Medical products of Sanatmetal have been available on the Russian market for more than 15 years. Traumatology products are widely known and recognized in Russia.

According to József Farkas, Managing Director of Sanatmetal, the company will supply its products to the Russian market and members of the Eurasian Union.

 “In Russia, this is the first Hungarian enterprise with such high level of equipment quality and technologies. We hope to expand our presence in the Russian market,” commented Sergey Cherpak, General Director of Sanatmetal CIS LLC.
